Anyone else experience heat intolerance?

My question, I have had hashimotos since 2009. It seems as if I am getting more and more intolerant of heat. (Which is a pain since I live in Florida )
My Dr tested me for Lupus since my mom had it, but it came back negative thankfully.
Anyone else experience heat intolerance and if so, have you found a way to improve it?

  1. I haven’t found a way to improve it. But I feel your pain!

  2. Have they monitored your blood sugar? My heat intolerance is worse when my sugar is high.

  3. I live in St. Petersburg and the heat just about kills me.
I am more intolerant of it as the years pass. I have had hashimoto’s for 34 years.

  4. I live in coastal NC. I live in the A/C, don’t wear makeup, and drink lots of ICE water. I also only wear cotton or very loose fitting clothes. I also keep a dry cloth with me so I can wipe the sweat off. Did i mention I do sales for work? I’m in and out of the car all day long, I just tell my clients that I’m having my own personal summer, even in the middle of January. I’ve learned to have a sense of humor about it because if I don’t I’ll cry.

  5. I was diagnosed as a child and have always prefered more moderate temperatures and avoid the sun when I can.

  6. The heat really bothers me too, and I’m also in Florida.

  7. I have this with heat and cold. So frustrating

  8. What meds do you take for your thyroid? Once I changed off of synstroid and went on Naturethroid and got my deficiencies under control I noticed that the temperature intolerances got better

  9. I have tried to adjust to it but I too feel your pain.

  10. Synthroid has lowered my intolerance of the heat. But I still get heat flashes.

  11. Florida and heat and humidity is unbearable \nI have RA also

  12. I also live in FL I took Lyrica for degenerative disc in neck and back and fibromyalgia I am a breast cancer survivor I had severe withdrawals from Lyrica and after that my thyroid is totally crazy I get blood work done every six weeks he adjusts My synthroid the heat makes me feel like I am suffocating besides air conditioning on cold and ceiling fans I have floor fans in every room with one blowing in my face while I’m sleeping if you find anything that helps please remember me because I’ve never been like this I’ve always love the beach and pool and I come short of having a panic attack when I get so hot. We don’t exactly live in the best place to complain about heat and humidity do we my doctor said that there would be a change when he gets thyroid straightened up but it’s up and down and sucks all my energy from me I live in Cape Coral where are you in FL Fran ?

  13. Yes! I used to love Summer and being at the pool or beach as much as possible, but I just can’t handle it anymore. Hubby and I went on a 7 day Caribbean cruise in July for our 25th anniversary and I was miserable the entire time. Brought me to tears several times.

  14. I try to stay out of direct sunlight in the middle of the day and drink plenty of ice water. It’s hard because I’m both heat and cold intolerant. I haven’t found a way to stop it completely, just help it

  15. Thank you everyone! I guess I don’t have it as bad as most. Mine is mostly intolerance if I try to work out or do yard work. I can still tolerate beach time as long as I cool off in the water frequently and drink plenty of water.

  16. I’m the opposite I stay cold

  17. I am in Az. I avoid the heat and don’t do well in it. I have thinking I need to move back to Washington. Much more moderate. I run the air nearly all year, and do have my fans on all year.

  18. I was always a bit cold and then got sick w/ Hashi and it got worse and added intolerance for heat also. I have recovered a lot and now it is very hard to get cold and I can take a lot of heat, although the humidity still does me in. I did all the things for Hashi`s and had terrific results but still not 100%.

  19. Same here!! It’s so frustratingo

  20. Yes and I did improve it. Cut out sugar, dairy and gluten. Eat more veggies and fruit now I’m not heat intolerant. Hallelujah!

  21. Yes! My mom swears I’ll be a pain in the butt once I hit menopause. Other than drinking a lot of water and having fans running I haven’t found things that help sorry 😞 but you’re not alone.

  22. I can’t tolerate the cold, I live in Ohio and now that the weather is changing my bones ache I can’t imagine what it’s going to be like in the teen’s🤤
