I’m sorry if this is off topic. My dad has been diagnosed with advanced lung cancer. What would be the best alternative treatment to follow?

  1. gerson protocol

  2. Benny Urbina- didn't know that. My liver kills me when I take it

  3. Since you are in India, definitely look into tumeric and of course a clean diet. I think juicing raw veggies along with some of the raw fresh tumeric root and ginger root could be very beneficial. So many of the vegetables are anti cancer. There are some which are beneficial specifically for lung and I remember one would be celery, but am sure there are others.. a little searching would bring that up — here is one page: http://fitlife.tv/7-foods-to-detox-your-lungs-right-now/

  4. MJ, thats short for cannabis oil sorry forgot, ive always known it as coconut oil lol then my hubby got a skin cancer dx n all the accronyms are different lol

  5. My head is reeling with all this information! Will take a while to sort through it. I only hope that this naturopath has some idea about at least some of this.

Thank you everybody, really appreciate all the kind words and help.

  6. Yes, Santhy George, no doctor knows everything. Hopefully your naturopath will have some philosopies in common with you and will be willing to look into the things you ask about.

  7. Benny Urbina how do we know if it's safe to try B17? I'm not sure about this, but someone told me this doctor we're planning to meet uses that therapy.

  8. Google Hydrogen Peroxide inhalation , Earth Clinic website

  9. Benny Urbina, I take B-17 and never heard of that. Do you have a source I can refer to? I might want to cut back, I haven't had any recourse to taking it yet, as I've been taking it for about 5 months now. I take 7 kernels a day in a smoothie. I have never seen anything about the gut flora and toxic.

  10. I understand smoking Marijuana does a whale of good in Lung cancer and other cancers.

  11. smoking Cannabis oil or "vaping" it rather does a lot of good for lung cancer, smoking just plain ole marijuana leaves n buds does Little to no good but pain relief and additional carcinogens you want to avoid!! the THC's and CBD's content is much lower in the plant before being processed, 1 lb green product only produces 1, 3 months supply of intense cancer protocol of 60 gms (same protocol used across the board for cancer and you can you tube people of all ages that have cured cancers, there is a grandma out there right now that was told she was going to die no other options left that is in remission cause she jumped the train to Cannabis oil and juicing the raw leaves (no heat gives you almost non psychoactive product that is highly beneficial to add whether using the oil or not!) Its all a lot to take in, especially in those frantic months of first dx, featr denial and acceptance will follow too, even with a milder cancer that what your going through we both struggled with the dx and process that followed, took quite a while for all the pieces to make sense, but in advanced stages its hard to know what to do, Another reason I suggested Ethan and his group, via private message and group posts he can really help you to layer the protocols you want to use, and help you with information on therapies maybe he has experienced to be useless except in certian circumstances (like chemo working best with leukemia natural treatments also work best on specific cancers at times, and he has spent a lot of time sorting this info out and finding what works best. Praying for your family as you tredge these waters, most important really is attitude, dont accept any expiration date in this, ESPECIALLY from a mainstream doctor, thats if you do nothing or do their proven to kill more people than cancer itself treatment, Not if you empower your body to fight!!

  12. My father in law had stage 3 throat cancer and did a high Vitamin C, B12, Apricot Seed diet. 6 years later he is still cancer free…but he did lose his VA benefits by choosing alternative health, so be careful with that. I tease him he tricked me into marrying his son because we moved our wedding up so he could see us get married. Two beautiful grandsons later, he says it was all worth it x3C3 Best of luck and prayers!!!

  13. All of the above, I would go for smoking or vaping cannabis oil along with Sheila's regimene for sure.

  14. (((HUGS))). I can't add anything about your father's treatment, but I want to remind you to take care of you. Many people neglect their own health when focused on a loved one's illness. This diagnosis is a cause of stress, and stress makes you use up magnesium faster. You probably will benefit from taking more magnesium, which will leave you more energy to help him.

  15. try to ask in this FB group Gerson Therapy Support Group

  16. Ditto for the Vitamin C and B-complex. Add vitamin A and E to that, fairly normal doses, avoid acidic foods, get omega-3 oils, selenium, calcium, magnesium and zinc at the higher/normal range daily.

  17. A ketogenic diet can sometimes cure cancer, even advanced stage cancer. But it's hard to stick to and you really have to want to do it. It's very effective though. If you Google "ketogenic diet and cancer" you'll get more info on it. http://healthimpactnews.com/2014/woman-battles-brain-cancer-using-low-carb-ketogenic-diet-without-chemo/

  18. I dod healing work. (Bio energy) if you send me a picture, I will work on him. Chaga tea is great and reishi (ganoderma mushroom)

  19. " For the treatment, asparagus should be cooked before using. Fresh or canned asparagus can be used. I have corresponded with the two leading canners of asparagus, Giant and Stokely, and I am satisfied that these brands contain no pesticides or preservatives.

Place the cooked asparagus in a blender and liquefy to make a puree. Store in the refrigerator. Give the patient 4 full tablespoons twice daily, morning and evening.

Patients usually show some improvement in 2-4 weeks. It can be diluted with water and used as a cold or hot drink.

This suggested dosage is based on present experience, but certainly larger amounts can do no harm and may be needed in some cases.
As a biochemist I am convinced of the old saying that `what cures can prevent.' ….

…. As a biochemist, I have made an extensive study of all aspects of cancer, and all of the proposed cures. As a result, I am convinced that asparagus fits in better with the latest theories about cancer.
Asparagus contains a good supply of protein called histones, which are believed to be active in controlling cell growth.

For that reason, I believe asparagus can be said to contain a substance that I call cell growth normalizer. That accounts for its action on cancer and in acting as a general body tonic. In any event, regardless of theory, asparagus used as we suggest, is a harmless substance."

  20. MJ, btw….i read this thread. and you are indeed correct. that is an Osage orange! (hedge apple). we have them here (in iowa) like crazy. i love picking them up in the fall , they are so granny green and bumpy and they smell so nice.

  21. Lot's of good wheatgrass juice!!! Make sure it's good quality. Avoid sugar! at ALL costs, as well as dairy, white flour, meats, junk food! Carrots, broccoli are good to have! Wishing you the best!!

  22. I still like Mark Hathaway's observation about Revici's work on the different approach to treatment based on whether the tumor is from overly acidic or overly alkaline body.

  23. I don't see anyone mentioning the cell type and how that affects treatment. While there is validity to all the options I have seen here, please consider before choosing your approach, you must reasearch and make sure that the particular cell type you are dealing with has been treated effectively with a particular protocol. I went through this with my own father, and it's been over 15 years ago now and there are a few new things, we hadn't heard of and tried then. But some of them like B17/laetrille Dr Bb Gibson who treated my dad with a metabolic combo treatment laetrille/alivazatos/IV Vit C, knew and tried to talk him out of it, because his type Adenocarcinoma of the lung had not responded to Laetrille historically. Now my dad was Stage 4 when diagnosed and never took conventional treatment, and lived 5 years with good quality of life, but he didn't find a cure at that time. The newest thing is gene targetted therapy, where they do cellular tests on some of the biopsied tissue and come up with mostly non toxic and some off label use drugs to treat based on the genetic makeup of those cells. Again I hate to see anyone waste precious time on a therapy unless you know it has been successful with your particular cell type. In Lung Cancer there are 4 primary types and quite a few rarer ones, please make sure you know what type it is.

  24. Cindi, this is great advice. If I was in the situation, I would do as you said, find the ones that work for that type, BUT I would also take any and all possible treatments that have no / little side effects. I am the type of person that likes to throw a handful of darts at a wall and see what sticks lol.
The only treatment I know for sure that works for ALL types (seemingly including non-cancerous tumors that have gotten out of control) is Rick Simpson Oil.

Santhy, Where in India is your father? From looking online some places do legally allow it (cannabis) , while even the places it is illegal they don't do much about it.. Also, I hope you saw from me and MJ that you can order the HTMA for him through Morley.
I forget if it has been mentioned, but be sure to way up the mag (In my opinion I would say try to get 3000 MG a day, after testing (can he get a mag RBC?) via supplements and baths / soaks / mag-a-hol) to try to help the body fight. Also loads of whole food vitamin C. Just to help support the rest of his body during this fight.

  25. MJ Hamp. You are saying that 4 tablespoon of cooked puréed asparagus can prevent and cure cancer. Simple as that?

  26. Gary Damp – I read the article and found it fascinating… so I took what I thought to be the how-to part and put it in it's own post.

  27. Just have to get over the asparagrus for breakfast mind thought

  28. I happen to really like asparagus…. BUT I have a problem in making it into a slurry to imbibe rather than enjoying those carefully cooked long and luscious spears.

  29. Sure Brandon, that's a good point, do everything you can to make yourself healthy, my daddid the whole foods (no white flours, no sugar, etc. ) diet, while he was fighting cancer, his diabetes went away, his tryglycerides dropped from 600 to under 100, so yes get your minerals in balance etc., but before you jump into a specific protocol, whether it is Gonzales, Revici, Gerson, Latrille, etc., that takes a huge committment of time, energy and money, please make sure that it has a proven track record for your type. And that means, don't just take someone's word that it cures all types, search out the people with your type, who have been successful and find out what they did. I guess there is still a referral service like People against Cancer that does that, I don't know it's been 15 years now since I was involved with that.

  30. Yes, knowing the specific type of cancer is incredibly important. And, that, in part, is why why I suggest low dose Naltrexoe (LDN), I include the statement that it stops progression of some types of cancer, has no nasty side effects and is low in cost.

  31. So we met the naturopath. He spent over an hour with us, going through our options. He is of the opinion that we shouldn't hurry into a decision. He wants to wait for the results of the tests that dad's oncologist has ordered, and listen to what she has to say. He wants to get the biopsy blocks from her and take a second opinion from a pathologist he trusts. He said he believes biopsies do more harm than good, but now that it's done, he wants to reassess the results.

He said if we decide to go the alternative route, then he needs to do further tests, take a thorough look at dad's current health status and only then decide on a course of action. He didn't go into the details of how he treats cancer (he said it depends on the individual case), though he mentioned that generally it's a 6 pronged approach: oxidise the cancer cells, cut off their glucose supply, alkalise the body, detoxify, boost immunity and block channels through which the cancer can spread. I mentioned Revici's theory and he said, yes, he was a genius, but he wasn't entirely right. He said that in his 20+ years of experience, he's come across very few cancers that are alkaline in origin. He said he'll anyway be monitoring the pH.

I don't know if he's right. But I've thought it over and decided that there is no point in double guessing him. I'm thrilled to find a doctor who at least seems to know what he's talking about. I think I have no option but to trust him, since I barely know anything about this. I considered getting dad to drastically up his intake of lemons and beneficial spices like turmeric, ginger, cinnamon etc, while we wait for treatment to start, but I'm wondering whether I should. I was reading up on lung cancer and they say you need to be cautious, you can't just throw a bunch of remedies at it. Plus he's on a long list of allopathic drugs and I have no clue if anything will react with it.

My dad liked the doctor and is finally convinced about going the alternative route. So I think I'll wait for the treatment to start, and depending on how he goes about it, mention some of the suggestions in this thread? Most doctors don't like interference so I need to be careful not to rub him the wrong way.

We're in Bangalore, Brandon. I will ask him about HTMA testing next time, and then take a call, thank you. And thank you to all of you amazing people, once again.

  32. Thanks for the update, Santhy George…. one step forward would be slowly changing diet.

  33. In what way? Cut out sugars? That we could. But grains are going to be next to impossible, rice and wheat are our staples here, all three meals. I could get him to decrease grains and increase vegetables, though.

  34. Do you have choices of brown rice vs white, or whole wheat vs wihte flour? Most people think the more refined your grains are and the quicker they convert to sugar, the more harmful they can be.

  35. Oh yes, we use only whole wheat at home. And rice, well, brown rice is not easily available and not widely used here. In our part of the country, the traditionally used rice is partly refined and par-boiled, it's light brown in colour. And from what I've read, that seems to be the best bet, considering the anti-nutrients in unrefined brown rice. I could be wrong.

  36. look into gerson therapy

  37. Did anyone know meat is acidic? WOW, this maybe the reason that Gerson Therapy does not use meat while in treatment.

  38. Grain fed or grass fed?

  39. I bet grass fed either isn't acidic…. Or very little compared to grain fed.

  40. Yep, I knew that. It is also inflammatory.

  41. Actually, true grass fed meat doesn't cause inflammation. But grain fed (especially corn fed) does! Corn is notorious and horrible for causing inflammation.

  42. That's why those with RA are fine with grass fed meat, but have flare ups with grain fed….

  43. Well it all causes inflammation in me. Grass fed is definitely better, but I highly doubt it has become alkaline just because of the cows diet. Meat is still meat albeit one more nutritious than the other.

  44. They say pasteurised milk is acidic but raw milk is alkaline…?

  45. I feel like a lot of natural diet advice is written with the assumption that said reader is consuming a standard American diet and package d foods. I get so annoyed when people preach health to me and speak to me as if I eat mc donalds and frozen fish dicks all day and feed my kids juice boxes and chrcheeseese strings

  46. Did you know that originally the gerson treatment protocol included juice pressed from raw liver? Cant get much meatier than that!

  47. Ive heard great things about nebulized hydrogen peroxide inhaled to heal it up.
