Does anyone else have issues getting over sickness?

I have been sick with sinus infection and bronchitis since January. Went off antibiotics for 3 days and it came back with a vengeance. Does anyone else have issues getting over sickness? I mean I know celiac is autoimmune some people look at me like I am crazy when I tell them my immune system isn’t the best. Please tell me I am not the only one!

Shout out to my husband who went and got groceries and made sure everything was gluten free. Whew! I don’t have an appetite but he purchased my go to foods when I am sick or stressed. Feeling blessed

  1. Did you complete your antibiotics? You took all of the prescribed amount for the full time?

  2. Check your meds for gluten

  3. I did that too.

  4. I’ve been the same way with repeated infections beginning at Thanksgiving with sometimes about 10 days between. Ugh!

  5. I was having 3 to 4 a year and hard time getting rid of them. My doctor ran some blood work and some test (sorry I don’t know the name) that you should have 23 responders I only had 11 working. They recommended I get the Prevnar 13 shot to hopefully avoid getting them.

  6. Use a probiotic with digestive enzymes. 70% of your immune system cells are linked to your gut. Message me if you want to know what I use.

  7. You are not the only one! My immune system is shot from immunosuppressive drugs

  8. Get your doctor to test you for vitamin D deficiency. If you are deficient, which many people are regardless of how much sun they get, it takes a high dose of it to boost it back up. I’m on it for the rest of my life. Low vitamin D can lead to you developing chronic infections.

  9. My daughter, son in law, mother and husband all had the crap for 2 weeks and then got it again. There are a lot of bronchitis-y things going around right now. My mom who is 77 wound up in the hospital with low blood oxygen. There is also stomach flu going around. As boring as it is everyone just needs to take it easy.

  10. I had the same thing a few years ago that I could not get rid of. They finally gave me a 10 day dose of Clindamycin. It ia strong but it broke the cycle. Check with pharmacy for a gluten free manufacturer if they give you this.

  11. I have not caught it, but my allergies are completely awful. Mold is also high in a lot of areas along with pollen.

  12. I forgot, my Dad had it too, in fact he had it first and gave it to everyone else, except me.

  13. I’m also trying to fight off a sinus infection right now. Not on antibiotics yet but may have to make a trip to urgent care to get some. Been trying to fight it off with Zyrtec, Sudephed, Dymista, and Mucinex. I seem to get sinus infections often.

  14. When you have an autoimmune disease it takes your body longer to recover from sickness. I would look into getting extra blood work to make sure your vitamin levels are where they should be and maybe test for selective immune deficiency

  15. Had similar for over a month. It just takes a long time to get over. Although I was on antibiotics twice

  16. Thank you for replying and giving insight. I have a few options now and will go from here, thanks for not making me feel crazy:)

  17. Any time I get sick with something, I stay sick for weeks. It goes away and comes back. Extremely annoying.
