Epsom salt baths every night for a year now

Question

Question I have been giving my now 5 year old daughter Epsom salt baths every night for a year now. Someone said I should add baking soda to the bath once a week. What r u thoughts? I use 2 cups of salt to a full bath with lavander or Camille oil.

  1. Baking Soda is needed. The bicarbonate helps the Mg be more easily absorbed.

  2. I just use Epsom salt in my 5 yr. olds bath and give her 1/4 of Calm.

  3. I've heard, two cups Epsom salt, 1 cup baking soda and 2 TBS Boron (Borax) they are both cofactors

  4. I am curious as to how giving children ES baths is beneficial to them as I have only heard of this recently. Adults, I am familiar with, of course. ES makes me weak so I only soak my feet in it, I almost faint if I try bathing in it. Can someone please tell me how children gain a benefit. Like I said, just curious.

  5. Clare Lancaster – good hydration is important.

  6. What would make one feel weak after soaking in Epsom salts? Curious!

  7. Not enough hydration, Tina Marie Tice

  8. I'm curious why you were told to only add baking soda once a week, rather than putting it in every tub.
