Hashimoto’s is not hereditary

I can’t remember if I’ve posted this or not but I have some test results back. The di02 test tells me my Hashimoto’s is not hereditary. But my stool analysis tells me I have Candida albicans, (which causes leaky gut) so I’m now on a yeast free, sugar free plus more diet for 3mth so will be interesting to see how I feel after.

  1. How do your results for Iodothyronine Deiodinase tell you your Hashi's is not genetic?

  2. I have Candida as well and it is SO hard to get rid of! You have to be super diligent about your diet.

  3. There are several genes/gene mutations related to Hashimotos including but not ,imited to: CTLA4, HLA-DRB1, PTPN22, SLC26A4 TG So one tests to see if you have an issue with iodothyronine does not mean that your Hashi's is not genetic. Also, everyone has candida bacteria in their stool. It is part of our natural gut bacteria. I would be more worried if you didnt have any. You can read more about that here if you are interested: https://health.usnews.com/health-news/blogs/eat-run/2013/12/10/we-all-have-candida-and-its-ok

  4. Leah Owens, for every article you post about Candida being “fake”, there are just as many articles in support of it. I go to a functional medicine nurse practitioner, who is the most knowledgeable medical professional I have ever seen. She diagnosed me with Candida and helped me get on the path of wellness. I respect your opinion, but just know that there are a lot of articles out there which prove Candida is a real illness.

  5. I could possibly of mis interpreted what she said but this is what it says.

  6. No, there are not articles that prove it's a real illness; you are confusing blog posts that anyone can put up, and scientifically, peer based research publications. If you had a yeast infection in your digestive tract (rare), your dr could see it when performing an endoscopy. And you wouldn't treat it with diet, if you did have it. It's not opinion, it's fact. Another fact: eating better makes you feel better. That goes for anyone.

  7. I have been studying natural healing methods for over 15 years and I am a holistic health practitioner. Candida overgrowth is a real issue and so are the symptoms.

  8. I just also started on a 6 week treatment with my Naturopath Dr.
6 weeks no sugar, yeast, and grapefruit seed extract pills & probiotics.
