How do you add bee pollen to food?

Looking for advice, I’ve been preparing my own food for roughly 35 years and I’ve learned how to make healthy food taste palatable. My question is this: To what or how do you add bee pollen to food and not make your food taste like bird poo. Any suggestions are gladly welcomed. Thank You.

  1. I add bee pollen to my mouth and let is dissolve ther while preparing breakfast. 🙂

  2. I tried the dissolve in mouth and personally found it unpleasant so I just swallow it down with a couple mouthfuls of water and that works just fine for me

  3. I add mine to a TBL or two of coconut yogurt. If you let it sit for 10 mins, it dissolves in the yogurt

  4. I've never had bee pollen that tasted like bird poo, lol. I usually slap it in my morning mag water while I take my other supplements. I've also put it in my yogurt.

  5. My Dad uses it to sweeten his homemade hot breakfast grain cereal

  6. Put the bee pollen in honey for a few hours and let it melt. Then add into your coffee or tea.

  7. I have it mixed with natural yoghurt and my homemade muesli.

  8. I sprinkle them over honey drizzled berries. Yum!

  9. How much do you take?

  10. I've been adding a tbs to a big salad or bowl of porridge. I g uess it's an acquired taste that I'm yet to acquire.

  11. Have you tried different kinds? I personally find it delicious but in reading the comments on different brands available online, it seems there are different "flavours."

  12. I put mine in my breakfast smoothie… which has some honey in it also.

  13. I'm seeing here that my problem is that I don't eat sugar or honey.

  14. I dissolve bee pollen in a bit of water and drink it.

  15. I add it to my smoothie in the am…i dont mind the taste at all…

  16. I add it to chocolate granola. But I love the taste of it if it comes from a local supplier sold at a market.

  17. I love my local pollen too. But when I chew a half-spoonful of it, some gets stuck in my teeth. So I make a breakfast "dessert": 1/4 c. frozen raspberries, 1-2 Tbsp. coconut cream, 1/2 tsp. Pure Radiance C, 1/2 tsp. bee pollen, a few drops of stevia, and optionally 1/2 to 1 tsp. raw cacao. I mash it up with a fork and it's delicious.

  18. If you can tell me what bird poo tastes like I'll tell you how to avoid that flavour!

  19. Add the bee pollen to 3 liters of liquid cane sugar. That always works to mask the flavor.

  20. I sprinkle bee pollen over my goats milk yogurt, add a few prunes and drizzle with a teaspoon of maple syrup….it's just so yummy!

  21. Question here, I haven't tried bee pollen yet (and I don't look forward to it so much either, lol) if taking pollen is for the B vitamins, how does nutritional yeast fare in bee pollen's stead? …because I enjoy the flavor of nutritional yeast!

  22. I put it in a capsule.

  23. I just throw 1/2 tsp in my mouth and swig a glass of water with it, but I use local bee pollen and it does not taste bad, but I agree the texture is strange.

  24. Take it off the spoon…chased by the Cod liver oil and everyone wins

  25. My wife has toast with strawberry or raspberry preserves & sprinkles it on top.

  26. close your eyes, throw 1/2 tsp in your mouth and swig a glass of water with it.

  27. I add it to my morning smoothie and cannot taste it at all in there. My smoothie consists of frozen blueberries, ground up flax seeds, plain kefir, banana, coconut water and bee pollen.

  28. It's really not bad . I take mine with around 1/2 teaspoon of honey. I actually look forward to the sweetness the honey adds.

  29. Did you all start out with taking 1/2 tsp. of pollen, or did you work your way up?

  30. Are there any risks to taking twice the dose – a full teaspoonful per day? I've been holding it back to 1/2. No allergies; been using bee pollen on and off for years.

  31. I mix it with butter and honey and a little vanilla and possibly some lemon zest and juice and roll it into balls, then coat with more bee pollen and refrigerate until solid.

  32. Smoothie 🙂
