I just had my gallbladder removed this week

Question

I have a question … I just had my gallbladder removed this week. A friend of mine told me that she had hers removed years ago and that she never had stomach pains like she had before the surgery again after the surgery. Has this happened to any of you ? Could this mean I don’t have Celiac Disease ??

  1. If your tests came back positive for celiac..you are celiac..doesn’t mean however you don’t have other issues like gallbladder xo

  2. Goes hand in hand…

  3. You have celiac. Sorry. Celiac damages the internal organs. Stomach pains are just a symptom of celiac.

  4. Sorry that doesn’t change the dx. But it never hurts to hope

  5. Can you tell me your symptoms before you had your gallbladder out?

  6. YOU KNOW TERRI I WAS THINKING THE SAME THING. I HAD MY GALL BLADDER REMOVED AND SEEMS LIKE IT HAS MADE ME HAVE MORE STOMACH PAINS, DIARREAHA AND DIZZINESS I TOOK THE TEST FOR CELIAC WITH BLOOD WORK AND ENDOSCOPY. I HAVE PRAYED FOR SOME GOOD DAYS. I DO HAVE CELIAC. BUT I WAS WONDERING IF HAVING MY GALL BLADDER TAKEN OUT COULD HAVE BROUGHT ALL THIS ON.

  7. MOSTLY INDIGESTION AND UPPER STOMACH PAINS AND FEELING DIZZY,

  8. WHAT IS A HIDA TEST?

  9. It shows how the gallbladder is functioning.

  10. I DONT BELIEVE I EVEN HAD THAT DONE. THE DOCTOR JUST ASSUMED THAT WAS THE CAUSE.

  11. BUT I AM WORSE NOW AND SELDOM HAVE A GOOD DAY. I HAVE LOST 36 LBS AND DIDNT NEED TO I ONLY WEIGH 102

  12. I’ve only had the blood test done to see if I have Celiac Disease. It was at the 40 mark. I’ve had pain and diarrhea since I was 17. (Over30 years) ..I learned about the disease and went completely off gluten. Both the pain and diarrhea stopped. That’s why I asked my question ????

  13. well those pains aren’t the same as celiac pains…and in a different spot for me. So sorry Celiac’s disease has nothing to do with yoir gullbladder but instead damsges your small intestine.

  14. My Doctor told me that Celiac does cause your gallbladder not to function properly and is yet another symptom Celiac\

  15. My stomach issues actually got worse after having my gall bladder removed…..

  16. ME TOO JODY/

  17. I’m afraid this may sound dismissive, but what am I missing? Your friend had stomach pains and her gall bladder out and felt better, so you think by having your gall bladder out you may not have celiac? How are those 2 things related? When someone has cholecystitis, (an inflamed gall bladder) they get a lot of pain. When they have a cholecystectomy (gall bladder removal) they will likely feel better. This is unrelated to celiac. If you have been diagnosed with Celiac, chances are you have it. Unless you were misdiagnosed which is unlikely.

  18. I have celiac and i had my gallbladder removed in 2001

  19. Had my gallbladder removed June of last year and since have had non stop stomach and bowel problems. I’m just now getting a GI referral but my son and mother had positive celiac bloodwork so I’m pretty sure I’m right there with them 😣\n\nI’m also learning (and I can’t remember if it was from this page or another) that those without a gallbladder should be using some sort of digestive enzyme to help with digestion…

  20. I had my gall bladder out in 2007 and had stomach problems after it in 2015 i was diagnosed with coeliac and ibs i am also lactose intolerant

  21. I had my gall bladder removed and felt so much better. I have not gotten a conclusive celiacs diagnosis but probably have every symptom. I still think a lot of my pain was from my gall bladder. I was on the verge of having to have emergency surgery.

  22. I just had mine removed a couple of months ago! Let me tell you, not feeling a sharp pain every day for hours at a time has been such a relief!

  23. I still feel sharp/deadly pains where my appendix was.
