I looked online and came up with acid reflux

Alright y’all I woke up a few days ago with a wind pipe full of stomach acid…

It was one of the most disgusting things I’ve tasted and burned for hours…

I looked online and came up with acid reflux – and some other longer name which is shortened to GERD…

Any ideas on this? On how to lessen the chance for this to happen?

  1. That's normally low stomach acid.

Do the stomach acid challenge. http://scdlifestyle.com/2012/03/3-tests-for-low-stomach-acid/

  2. sibo test,com

  3. Keep your upper body elevated when you sleep. Keep water by your bed, and drink some immediately if it happens again. When that happened to me, breathing became very difficult (like asthma), but drinking water made it better. And then work on raising your your stomach acid before you eat. I drink lemon juice with water, and that helps. I also take d-limonene.

  4. ….so, it's a question of ph level in the gastrointestinal tract?

$350 is way more than I can afford right now…I just lost my job.

  5. Apple cider vinegar – tablespoon in 8oz of water with every meal. Use a straw to protect your teeth enamel. It will work and apple cider vinegar works on so many other things. Many just for the price of one. Make sure you get the Braggs brand. The other stuff is crap.

  6. Yeah, it's usually caused by low stomach acid. Ironic.

  7. Acid reflux typically results from having too little acid in your stomach. You can easily improve the acid content of your stomach by taking one tablespoon of raw unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a large glass of water daily. The pectin in apple cider vinegar may also help to soothe intestinal spasms. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2015/03/21/apple-cider-vinegar-uses.aspx

  8. It's caused by low stomach acid. Taking digestive enzymes with meals will help.

  9. Also – taking a supplement called DGL will help soothe and heal your entire digestive tract. From throat to butt.
Enzymatic Therapy makes a DGL and Vitamin Shoppe has a house brand version.

  10. Enzymes. I buy from Amazon. Fixed my hubby and myself….papaya.

  11. ranitidine works wonders

  12. Zinc Carnosine is great stuff 🙂 used in japan under prescription for ulcers , but don't need a scrip here ! Amazon

  13. they say Magnesium chloride is very good for GERD.

  14. Try sleeping on your left side.

  15. Aloe vera juice has really helped my husband's reflux. He used it to get himself off of omneprozal along with apple cider vinegar and papaya enzyme. 🙂

  16. Had to give up wheat and late night eating for that one. Used to happen to me a lot and it was agony.

    enzymes will cure acid reflux

  17. Taking magnesium has helped mine no end and now the only time i get it now is if ive eaten something highly sugary … ice-cream usually … occasionally something spicy. Oh or alcohol which i rarely do … i think its mostly sugar that sets mine off so maybe question what it was you ate the night you had it/have it and cut that out? Its horrible! Hope you find a cure.

  18. Wind pipe? That's your lungs. You mean esophagus, right?

  19. Inhaled it. Happened to me a lot. It was like inhaling fire and it would take an hour to go away.

  20. ppose to not eat anything 2 hours befor u go to bed and do vinegar with mother

  21. Slippery elm powder

  22. I just bought some Bragg's ACV with honey in it…

  23. Long term…you might want to look into healing the microbiome with diet changes.

  24. DGL (licorice tablets)

  25. Off acid reflux is because we don't have enough stomach acid (leaving part of your last meal only partially broken down.) Betaine Hcl, taken with meals, especially meals with protein (meat), will help you to make more stomach acid, and will also help you absorb zinc, which all guys need.

  26. Don't eat foods with high fructose corn syrup or hydrogenated oils.

  27. Sign of low stomach acid, and possibly H.Pylori. You need HCL after meals (digestive enzymes help too, but hcl is needed). Also try this … I had GERD once, and I took one of these with lunch, and by dinner time it was gone. All the pain in my chest, gone. It is so awesome. Good for other health benefit also, so not a waste to buy 😀 http://au.iherb.com/jarrow-formulas-d-limonene-1000-mg-60-softgels/13877

  28. Raise the head of your bed a bit in case it returns, helped me.

  29. Organic raw apple cider vinegar straight with a chaser of water. Before meals.

  30. Aloe Vera juice, it also helps with any irritation in the esopahgus

  31. And for many more ideas do a search on this page for GERD. Many have asked the same question and there have been many suggestions.

  33. Lots of things can help get your gut healed. The enzymes will help immediately with any acid. Kefir, full fat multi probiotic yogurt, cultured buttermilk, fermented foods like pickles and sour kraut in the cooler isle, kombucha, kefir. Any and all and any combination of these foods that you like and enjoy will heal the gut. If you have had this for some time I would suggest your doctor test you for H-pylori because this bacteria is the cause of most ulcerative issues in the gut and intestines. Any antibiotic use kills the good bacteria and this bad bacteria can move on in. Many people on long term use of station drugs have this and they are becoming sicker…..I'd this is ruled out you can heal your gut and use enzymes as an antacid which does not cause any side effects. Good luck!!

  34. Mary do you mean digestion enzymes with food?

  35. No. Earlier I said enzymes. Amazon sells large bottles fairly cheap I believe they are papaya based and most pharmacies have them in smaller amounts these days. I just buy the big bottle and we always have them for friends and family and we can take them with us easily. Certain foods can cause me discomfort and one of these, which taste great by the way, does the job!!!
