Magnesium and candida

Okay, so I am trying to find info about magnesium and candida. I started taking magnesium about four weeks ago, and was doing great for about 2 1/2 weeks, and have started feeling not so great for the past week or so. (Muscles easily fatigued, tingling hands and forearms and feet, generally tired.) I am thinking it is candida-related, since I am on long-term antibiotics for chronic Lyme Disease, so candida is always lurking. Does magnesium help with candida issues? I searched the files and couldn’t find any information.

  1. Good question. Interested in answers for this.

  2. I use oil of oregano drops for candida.

  3. Since magnesium keeps your blood sugars under control and it's very common to not care for sweets at all when you get your cellular magnesium optimal – I would think that it makes a definite difference. PLUS since parasites/pathogens feed off of free (unbound) iron I would work on getting your ceruloplasmin up to optimal levels too.

  4. Check your sugar ,do a AC1 GLUCOSE TEST,this a three month average test, never rely on a overnight fasting test,I will bet you are having high sugar, thus the candida problem.

  5. Read the files about borax. Borax is antifungal and helps get rid of candidia

  6. Those symptoms sound like your potassium / sodium balance is out. Are you doing the adrenal cocktail?

  7. Boron to combat candida

  8. Just realizing that my symptoms started not long after I started adding Trace Minerals Boron drops to my morning supplements, so it could be candida die off as well. Hmmm…this is going to be interesting to try and figure out.

  9. Boron which is a cofactor for magnesium and Lugol's iodine, which is another whole protocol.

  10. Don't know if candida makes the tingling. My bet will be need of potassium n other important electrolytes. Check ur mineral status

  11. Diatomaceous earth

  12. I had years of antibiotics induced gut problems and I had to heal my gut before I could absorb suppliments efficiently.

  13. Those are also symptoms of low vitamin B12

  14. You are going to need to get off the antibiotics and replenish your gut flora. Instead of the antibiotics, follow the herbal protocol in Healing Lyme by Stephen Harrod Buhner. It has done wonders for my husband, who was diagnosed with Lyme last fall. Also works for mold!
