Question

I’ve tried to search the files on Metforman and diabetes but my iPad is not letting me search. Does anyone have thoughts on the Metforman use for diabetes and magnesium?

  1. Metformin is the generic name for Glucophage, as stated above. There have been four or five generic manufacturers of Metformin. They are not all created equal. In my opinion, Solco brand Metformin worked well for me in that it didn't cause the gastrointestinal side effects that the Teva and others tend to cause.

Metformin can help to regulate blood sugar by helping with insulin to get the blood sugar out of the blood stream and into the cells. Many people who are insulin resistant can benefit from its use.

The downside, besides the potential side effects mentioned, is that it can be hard on your kidneys and liver.

On the natural side, GTF Chromium (NOT Chromium Picolinate) is helpful to do the same thing more naturally.

  2. Metformin steals B12..

  3. Diabetics literally bleed magnesium. Taking metformin or any diabetic medication with or without first correcting mineral deficiencies especially magnesium redefines stupidity.

  4. Go to YouTube and watch Dr Jason Fung's series 'The Aetiology of Obesity' which is really about type 2 diabetes.

  5. Wow, does there always have to be snide remarks when someone asks a question? Be a little nicer…jeez. ️

  6. Interesting…thank you! Something for me to look into. When I ask my doctor about these things she shrugs and says "Not sure." Yeah I know…time to find a new doctor! 😉

  7. I have no intention of taking metformin and have been correcting my mineral deficiencies David McPhail. Just a question I was curious about. Thank you for your rude comment.

  8. In my humble opinion, David MacPhail, that was rude and uncalled for. We are all here to learn from each other, not to be put down by a select few.

  9. The truth sometimes hurts.

  10. Personally I don't know any of these people but I hardly think this is the place to start name calling at people who are only posing a question. Asking a question does NOT make them stupid, but it does make the person who says so, seem rather rude, insensitive and uncivilized to be name calling.

  11. It was a question to which you made a very rude assumption. You should be ashamed of yourself.

  12. Thank you Sierra Hayes

  13. I have seen David MacPhail behaving badly on many occasions and I have written to Morley about his sarcastic comments – I have even written to him once to give him a ticking off – of course he hasn't got the grace to apologise – just ignore him and he will go away. Very rude……..

  14. Some people never learned "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all." No need to post rude things, just scroll on, and keep your mouth shut, unless you have positive, helpful things to say!

  15. I just happen to come across this. Not sure about it's claim though. http://www.healthylivinghouse.com/juice-that-reverse-type-2-diabetes-in-1-week/

  16. Theresa, there are many extremely intelligent people in this group who I admire and learn from. But even though the central theme of this group is that everything flows from minerals of which magnesium is a cornerstone, threads on issues pertaining to minerals continue to get bogged down and derailed with antagonistic agendas. This is especially true of hormone D. I came into this group as an enthusiastic advocate of hormone D. I was even part of s study on the 'benefits' of it. But through Morely and others, I saw the error in my ways, errors that caused great harm to my body from which I have not yet fully recovered. So when people in this group deride and insult the extreme intelligence of those I respect and admire I can and sometimes do become rude.

  17. David MacPhail you are far from intelligent – and your manners leave a lot to be desired. you are one of the rudest people on this group – if not the rudest. And you still haven't the grace to apologise to the lady you offended. So stick to subject here which are your manners!!!
