My daughter is expecting twins and has had a lot of nausea

My daughter is expecting twins and has had a lot of nausea. I’ve told her to take magnesium for it. Can anyone who has had help with this chime in? How much? And any other info can help convince my daughter…as she is skeptical.

  1. Yes!! That will help tremendously! I also take milk thistle and eat lots of protein!

  2. Tell her to bring your suggestions to the obgyn.

  3. I have twins not much helped with nausea for me but raw almonds .

  4. Magnesium Sulfate is used to stop preterm labor. Any time one is carrying more than one baby, they are automatically at risk for prematurity – MS is often very effective. It's wonderful that she is looking at magnesium supplementation NOW even if it's for a different reason. .other people on here more knowledgeable than I am could probably help with the nausea issue and type of mag she may need. .

  5. Magnesium is great for many reasons. Just wanted to add fresh Ginger root tea is amazing for nausea

  6. Oh yeah ginger is great too

  7. Magnesium also prevent preeclampsia

  8. I read that the real cause of morning sickness is low mag RBC, this article was also helpful too.

  9. Apple Cider Vinegar

  10. Ask ur daughter to avoid wheat and causes indigestion and nausea.

  11. If allowed. Peppermint. I use gum or candy. And a diffuser!! Lifesaver. Not 100%, but big help.

  12. I hv 15 year old twins. I had to eat ever 2 hours for the 1st four months. I also found that drinking ginger tea and ginger candies really helped me. The most important thing is shes needs to be eating way more often. Not large meals an apple with some nuts etc etc.

  13. A lot of these are great suggestions to treat the symptom; morning sickness, but not the cause; Magnesium and mineral deficiency.
She needs to boost up on essential trace minerals and nutrient dense foods to nourish her body and eliminate the nausea at the source.

  14. 5 mg per pound of body weight spread throughout the day

  15. Vitamin B6, I believe. Look it up first though. Don't take my word for it.

  16. UGh. I never had morning sickness UNTIL I started working to up my magnesium levels. I don't know what's up with me. I have tried everything, including mag, obviously, and I still am super nauseas. I'm 10 weeks pregnant and nauseated as we speak. After some digging around and asking around, I've come to the ugly conclusion that it's more related to how our livers are handling a TON of extra hormones while also dealing with the excess waste from an increased metabolism. I think those of us with an increased toxin load tend to deal with morning sickness. Which freaking sucks because I've been working for 6 years to clean up my lifestyle. If one can be "perfect"- I would be. One friend mentioned that my body may have just been storing the toxins before but now that I've started healing work, it's actually "dealing" with them- hence the new nausea (I had almost zero nausea with my first two kids, a ton with my 2nd 2, in addition to GI issues).

The only thing that gave me relief (that I should actually dig back out this pregnancy) is PhosFood but I can't remember which company makes it. I also feel as though that's another 'band aid', though.

I was 22, 24, 27, and now 29. I really doubt "aging" is a factor in my nausea but baby gender could be (first two were boys, 3rd was a girl, don't know what I'm having, now).

  17. I did take some mag and it helped with nausea and leg cramps . The usual dose but only couple times a week .

  18. Yeh ginger tea

  19. A correctly prescribed homeopathic medicine can get rid of the nausea. Consider contacting a homeopath.

  20. My high risk ob suggested as much mag as I could take. He said gradually up the dosage until you feel better. I was taking 3 pills in the morning and 3 at night.

  21. My obgyn recommended b6 for morning sickness. That was over 10 years ago. I don't remember if it worked or not
